Swainsboro High School senior Andrew Lamb has achieved the distinction of being named a semifinalist in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. Being distinguished as a National Merit semifinalist is a huge achievement along the path to college. More than 1.5 million juniors entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. The nationwide pool of semifinalists represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors.

Merit Scholar designees are selected based on their skills, leadership abilities, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Only those who score in the top one percent nationwide achieve the distinction of National Merit semifinalist. Every finalist competes for one of 2,500 National Merit $2,500 scholarships

Swainsboro High School Principal Dr. Denise Warnock said, “Andrew demonstrates the qualities of our very best and brightest at Swainsboro High School. We are extremely proud of his achievement and excited to share his recognition with our community. Andrew has been intrinsically motivated to achieve this merit and throughout his high school career has demonstrated the excellence worthy of a National Merit recipient. We look forward to his continued success in this and all his endeavors.”
