The post season awards are coming in for members of the Lady Dawg softball team.

The team placed 10 players on the all-region team last week.  Seven Lady Dawgs were honored as first team all-region with 3 more selected on the second team.

Coach Frank Wimberly was honored as Region Coach of the Year.

Charla Clifton was chosen as Region Player of the Year.  This marks the third time the senior pitcher was selected as Player of the Year.  The year she was not chosen as Player of Year, she was selected as Pitcher of Year.

Shortstop Kelsey Harper was selected as defensive player of the year.  This marks the third consecutive year Kelsey was honored as top defensive region player.  Harper will be trading in her Bulldog red and white for the blue and white of Georgia Southern next softball season, committing to the Eagles a few weeks ago.

Other than Harper and Clifton, 5 other Lady Dawgs were selected as first team all-region.  They include Shayla Stephenson behind the plate at catcher, at third base Jayna Kearson, Ally Taylor at first, Sullee Boddiford at pitcher/infield and Lily Robertson on the infield.

Selected on the second all-region team were outfielder/pitcher Kayanna Thompson, outfielder Kaylan Lamb and Lola Walden at second base.
