Before the softball game against Portal last Wednesday, the varsity Lady Dawgs cheered on their counterparts in middle school against Metter.
The c-team defeated the Tigers 5-1 to improve to 2-1 for the season.
Leading 1-0 after 3 innings the young Dogs tacked on 4 more runs in the bottom of the fourth and held on to defeat Metter 5-1.
The middle school team is coached by Jessica Durden, Russell Johnson, and John Durden.
The team will be riding the bus this week with 3 away games on tap. Yesterday they played Jenkins Co. in Millen. Thursday they will be taking a ride to Pembroke take on the Bryan Co. and Saturday they will be back on the bus to Portal for a game against the Panthers.
