Lady Bulldogs record eighth shutout of the season

From September 3 through September 10, the Lady Dawgs softball team shutout three opponents in that timespan. During the three games, they outscored their opponents 30-0.

The Bulldogs did lose their first region loss of the season on September 1 in Pembroke, losing to the undefeated Redskins from Bryan Co. 5-2. This was just the second region loss for the Bulldogs in the last two years.

On September 3, ECI traveled to Sylvania to play the Gamecocks. The Bulldogs blanked Screven Co. 8-0.

Wednesday, September 9, they played another road game in Portal. They left Turpentine Capital with their second shutout, 8-0 against the Panthers.

Claxton came calling to Twin City last Thursday. The Lady Dawgs scored 12 runs the first three innings and ended the game in the bottom of the fourth, run-ruling the Tigers 14-0 for their eighth shutout of the season.

Sullee Bodiford went the distance in the circle for the Bulldogs.

Last Saturday, September 12, ECI played in the Jeff Davis tournament in Hazlehurst.

The Bulldogs gave Pierce Co. just their third loss of the season in the first game 5-4, avenging an early loss to the Yellow Jackets the first game of the season.

The afternoon game saw the Bulldogs defeating AAAAA Coffee Co. from Douglas 2-1.

Line scores and stats were not available for any of the games noted.

The Bulldogs are currently 13-5 overall and 5-1 in region play.

The Bulldogs will hit the road for the next three games before returning home for a rematch against Bryan Co on September 24.

Tuesday, September 15, the Bulldogs played in Metter against the Tigers. On September 17, they crossed the river to play Jenkins Co. and will make the long trip to Darien on September 22 to play McIntosh Co.
