The East Georgia State College Lady Bobcat Softball Team split a double header with Georgia Military College on Monday, March 29 at Bobcat Field.

The Bobcats fell to GMC in game one after leading 2 to 0 until the top of the seventh inning. The GMC Bulldogs posted three runs in the top of the seventh to get the win 3 to 2 over the Bobcats.

In game two the Bobcats bounced back with a walk off homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning by Allana Hooks. The stage would be set with the Bobcats trailing 3 to 4 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Alaina Lee would single up the middle to put Allana Hooks up at the plate with 2 strikes. Hooks delivered with a walk off homerun over the center field fence to give the Bobcats the win 5 to 4. Mattie Cash got the win on the mound for the Lady Bobcats.

“We never gave up all day long,” said Head Coach Chuck Wimberly after the victory in game two. “We felt like we played good enough to win game one and GMC rallied late to win game one, but our Lady Bobcats came through in the end with a tremendous victory over a very good GMC squad in game two. I am so proud of our team and their never say quit attitude. This was a great win for our program.”
