Kathleen Walden, 86

Kathleen Walden, age 86, of Hephzibah, passed away entered into rest Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services were held Saturday September 4, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Randy Walden officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Wallace Mumford, Wesley Williams, David Mumford, Brandon Mumford, Scott Widner, Tad Widner, and Blake Lee.

Mrs. Walden was born in Jefferson County to the late Thomas and Ruth Linnenkohl. She was a homemaker after her retirement from Keller Chair Plant, and loved to crochet and work word puzzles; she had a great memory. Mrs. Walden was the wife of sixty-six years to the late Reverend Thurman Walden. She was a member of Euphrates Baptist Church in Edgehill. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Zepp; brothers, Timothy Linnenkohl and David Linnenkohl; grandson, Christopher Widner; son-in-law, Omer Mathis; and granddaughter, Macy Mullis.

Mrs. Walden is survived by her children Celia Mathis, Margie Widner, and  Diane Mumford (Wallace); grandchildren, Jenny Mullis (Darrell), Rebecca Brantley, Crystal Lee (Jason), Tad Widner, Scott Widner (Summer), Wesley Williams (Lara), David Mumford (Teresa), Brandon Mumford (Casey), and Tina Phillips (Tony); great-grandchildren, Brooke Sheppard (Justin), Tyler Mullis (Olivia), Alyson Davis (Zach), C.J. Green (Jenny), Andrew Manns, Blake Lee, Jaxson Lee, Katie Williams, Paige Williams, Charlie Williams, Chris Williams, Sara Williams, Vidalia Mumford, Robby Durden, Erikalee Durden, Memphis Mumford, Cassandra Mumford, Cathleen Mumford, Chenoa Mumford, Brandon Mumford II, Emoryanne Widner, Amy Phillips, Ashley Phillips, and Andy Phillips; great-great-grandchildren, Stetson Sheppard, Arabella Sheppard, Rayce Sheppard, Gentry Sheppard, Layne Sheppard, Elijah Davis, Rhett Green, Oaklyn Green, Noah Frost, Kenzleigh Porter, Taylor Porter, Marissa Porter, Jude Edge, and Jenson Edge; brother, Brinson Linnenkohl (Dorothy); several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to MSA Hospice Nurses, Mary, Dennise, Crystal, and Tonya; and her caregivers, Clementine, Sharon, Monica, Nora, Peggy, Emily, Tabitha and Marie.
