Just say thanks

Life is really simple if we do not make it complex. Yes it is challenging but there is always a way out if we trust and believe God. Mark 11:24 tells us that when you pray, believe and you shall have those things you ask for. That's what makes life simple. Just pray to God and believe while you're praying.

So what do we do once we receive our request? What should be our response? I remember reading Luke 17:11-19. This passage of scripture tells of ten men who had leprosy. They were not allowed in the city because of their disease. The priest were the only one to declare them clean and permit them to come back in the city. As Jesus began to enter the city, they cried (prayed) to him. They said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us". Jesus told them to go show themselves to the priest. As they went, they were cleansed (healed).

Although there were ten men healed, only one came back to thank Jesus. Only one bowed and worshiped him. This man was a Samaritan. What happened to the nine? While we praise the Samaritan, are we guilty like the nine? As God continues to answer our requests, are we too being ungrateful? Are we neglecting to give God praise? Or do we get comfortable and continually ask him for more?

We are living in a dangerous time because of our greed. God specifically warned the children of Israel not to forget him once he blessed them. He promised them good homes, the best and plenty food to eat, silver and gold. He promised to give them a good land. He kept his Word . Read Deuteronomy chapter 8 and heed the warning of being ungrateful, forgetting God, and not keeping his commandments. Read how he blessed for doing the same.

Never forget where your blessings come from. I Thessalonians 5:18 tells us, " In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you". So be "The One". Be the one that takes time, starting now, in your home to tell others "thank you". Don't take for granted that anyone has to do anything for you.

Start where you are. Start where you go everyday. Change the world around you. Be the first to tell others, "thank you". Tell the Lord, "thank you". When you show gratitude, it will change your attitude and your attitude will determine your altitude. Just say "THANKS"
