Jury duty for January 11 for Emanuel County has been cancelled. While the judiciary is anxious to have the courts return to normal and hold trials, the rise in COVID cases throughout Georgia has resulted in the GA Supreme Court suspending jury trials for the next few months for the overall health and well-being of citizens and judicial stakeholders. If you received a notice within the past two weeks, you may disregard said notice. You do not need to appear on January 11. These notices were yellow, blue, and pink.
Grand jury notices for the Emanuel Grand Jury to meet on January 25 are currently being sent out. Grand jury is still allowed to meet at this time. If you receive a notice for January 25, please plan to report unless you hear differently from the courts. These notices will be on green paper.
