A graveside service for Julia Bell Rountree, 84 of Adrian, was held Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6’ rule was enforced during the viewing and service. She passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Scott Health and Rehab following an extended illness.
Miss Julia Bell Rountree was born September 19, 1935 in Swainsboro to the late Wilkerson Rountree and Willie Mae Cross Rountree. She worked in sewing factories. She loved cooking and window shopping. Rountree was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Daniels; granddaughter, Shaquanna Boynton; and five brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include her son, Charles Rountree (Alice Foots) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Christopher Boynton, Demetris Stanford, and Amberia Boynton, all of Swainsboro; sisters, Elizabeth Burton and Corine (James) Brady of Swainsboro; 10 great-grandchildren; and several special nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
