Mrs. Judy Hightower Kersey, age 80, of Adrian, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at her residence. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23, at 11 a.m. at Williams Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Family received friends Tuesday, October 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rick Ragsdale, Ralph Logue, Wayne Kersey, Howie Kersey, Buck Mills, Matt Kersey, CJ Kersey, and Ethan Kersey.
Judy was born April 7, 1944, in Dublin, to the late James Dillon Hightower Sr. and Frances Linger Hightower. She was a small but MIGHTY woman that loved her family and friends greatly. Judy worked many jobs throughout her 80 years, including Emanuel Medical Center and Movies To Go.
She was blessed with an amazing artistic ability to paint beautiful masterpieces that she loved to share with others. Judy enjoyed cooking and baking delicious food for her family and friends any chance she could. She enjoyed many trips to the mountains with her husband and friends over the years. Judy loved the lord and was a member of Williams Chapel Church. Mrs. Kersey is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Dillon Hightower Jr. of Wadley, AL and Johnny Bruce Hightower of Dublin.
Mrs. Kersey is survived by her husband of 51 years, Willard “Polie” Kersey, Jr.; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Moore (John) of Adrian; sons, William Thomas “Tommy” Bell (Helen) of Kite and James Willard Kersey (Kim) of Swainsboro; brother, Jerry Edmond Hightower (Debbie) of Cochran; grandchildren, Ashley King (CJ), Jessica Shurling (Jonathan), Brittany Wren (Wesley), Dakota Kersey (Krystyna), Paige Ross (Will), Khloe Kersey, and Zoey Kersey; and ten great-grandchildren.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
