Joel Allen Powell, 66, of Adrian, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Emanuel Medical Center. Funeral services were held Monday, November 16 at 2:00pm from Hebron Baptist Church with Reverend Irvin Stapleton and Patric Kersey officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Social distancing and the use of face masks were encouraged.
Pallbearers wereThomas Sconyers, Ted Sconyers, Will Kersey, Michael Powell, Keith Powell, and David McNeely.
Joel was born in Jenkins County, son of the late John Powell and Evelyn Tanner Powell. He retired from heavy equipment maintenance. Joel was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Joel is survived by his wife, IIma Cheryll Kersey Powell; 3 sons, Jody Powell (Kelli), Joel Aaron Powell (Nicole),
and John Stephen Powell; 6 grandchildren; brother, John Mack Powell (Peggy); sister, Donna Powell Boyd; and beloved pet, Peanut.
Arrangements are by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro.
