Jarvis, Morris Win First Place in 2022 Resolution Run 5K!

On a nice, warm January 1, 2022 morning, runners descended upon the campus of East Georgia State College Swainsboro for the running of the 8th Annual Kiwanis Resolution Run 5K. Registration for the run began at 7:30 a.m., with the official start at 9 a.m. It was a balmy 70 plus degrees. The run, sponsored by the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club, was held to raise money for the Kiwanis Club’s many community projects.

The overall winner in the male division was John Morris from Swainsboro, with a time of 23 minutes and 52 seconds. The overall winner in the female division and the overall best time in the race was Angel Jarvis from Swainsboro, with a time of 22 minutes and 18 seconds. The male masters’ division winner was Tom Lamb from Wadley, with a time of 25 minutes and 25 seconds. The female masters’ division winner was Beth Lane, with a time of 32 minutes and 45 seconds.

Age group winners in the male division were age 10 and under first place, Denton Parker; age 30-39 first place Roscoe Parker; age 60-69 first place Jim Jarvis; and age 70 and older first place John Torpy.

Age group winners in the female division were age 20-29 first place, Anita Cerpovicz; and second place, Victoria Parker; age 30-39 first place, Abigail Brown; and second place, Jessica Palumbo; age 40-49 first place, Jodi Jarvis; and age 60-69 first place, Beverly Walker.
