Mr. James L. Mason, 94 of Swainsboro, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Private graveside services were held Friday, September 25, 2020.
Mr. Mason was born January 10, 1926 to the late George Washington Mason and Elizabeth Scott Mason. Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Mason was a native of Swainsboro and lived all his life in Emanuel County. As a young boy, he was employed by Pound Dairy of Swainsboro. Mr. Mason served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran of World War II and the Korean War. After returning home, he became a master roofer. Mr. Mason enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, reading, and mechanics. His joys were his niece and nephew.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Ann (Roger) Peebles of Swainsboro; niece, Cissy Peebles of Swainsboro; nephew, Roger Ray Peebles Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia; and many friends.
