Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Jack “Jackie” Chandler Overstreet Jr., 55 of Dellwood, on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 6, at 3 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating and Rev. Phil Wilson assisting. Visitation was from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dellwood. The CDC's social distancing guidelines were observed and masks were encouraged for safety and well-being of others. Pallbearers were Brent Ross, Ben Howell, Jeff Overstreet, and Douglas Overstreet.

A long-time resident of Dellwood, Jackie was born November 13, 1964 to Susie Scott Overstreet and the late Jack Chandler Overstreet Sr. He was a 1982 graduate of Swainsboro High School and was a self-employed painter by trade. A Baptist in faith, Jackie loved spending quality time with his son, riding in his Jeep, and listening to music. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jennings Overstreet.

Survivors include son Jake Overstreet of Dellwood; mother Susie Scott Overstreet of Swainsboro; sister Jan Overstreet Lamb (Greg Gillis) of Swainsboro; brother Scotty Overstreet of Swainsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
