It's How You End

Today I want to talk about a great woman of faith, Rahab. I love the story of Rahab. She is the kind of woman who minds her own business. God prepared her for a great assignment. Rehab had a profession which most people talk about in a negative way, yet she served a lot of people. By today's standards she is not be accepted by man, yet God used her in a mighty way.

When Moses completed his assignment of leadership, Joshua was chosen to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land. While in Egypt and wondering in the wilderness, God performed many miracles in their favor. Joshua sent two men to Jericho to spy out the land before making their invasion. When the men of Israel reached Jericho, they went to the home of Rehab

She was described as a prostitute. She had a business of serving other people. In her community. She helped people who were hurting or felt rejected. In a pagan country, Rehab used her business to help her family. When the men of God entered her home, she received them and took care of them.

Because she heard how God was with the children of Israel, the fear of God was upon her. She had faith in their God. Rehab was in a risky business, so she took a risky chance to care for the men of God. Her life was in danger in that pagan country of Jericho, yet she trusted the God of the Israelites. She had heard how God had parted the Red Sea and they walked across on dry land. She also heard how God had given His people victory over two great kings and nations.

The king of Jericho sent men to Rehabs' house to search for the spies but she, being a screwed businesswoman, devised a plan. She hid the men upstairs for three days then let the down with a red cord and told them how to escape but not before she made a contact with them.

Being screwed, courageous and a brave businesswoman of faith, she secured her safety and the safety of her family. Because she had saved their lives the men would save hers. When they returned to capture Jericho, everyone in her home would be spared. Rehab got her father, mother, sisters, brothers and all their families and belongings and they were saved.

Because of her fear of and obedience to the plan of God she is now a great patriot in the "heroes of faith". She became the great grandmother of King David the lineage of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. Yes, Jesus Christ came through Rehab the harlot for you and I to be saved today. See, it's not how you begin, but how you end. If Rehab trusted the God of the Israelites, why can't you? Trust God today with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. If He took care of Rehab and her business and family, He will take care of you. So, accept Jesus Christ ad your Lord and Savior. Remember, it's not how you begin but how you end.
