Hometown Public Servants: Swainsboro Fire Department

Posted

By anonymous nomination, this week’s Hometown Public Servants are firefighters and first responders of Swainsboro Fire Department Headquarters.

In last week's Swainsboro City Council meeting, Swainsboro Fire Department Chief Mike Strobridge advised council and Mayor Charles Schwabe that the fire department had recently been evaluated by two different agencies, Standard and Training and Homeland Security. Evaluation results conducted by Standard and Training landed the department a 100 percent approval rating. The department also received a remarkable new ranking by Homeland Security, improving its ranking from a status three to a status one. The Swainsboro Fire Department can now apply for federal grant funding on a yearly basis rather than every three years, which further fulfills the chief's overall goal of providing "better" public service to those they serve.

Featured as this year's very first Hometown Public Servant was Swainsboro Fire Department Chief Strobridge. Read his feature online by visiting https://emanuelcountylive.com/stories/hometown-public-servant-swainsboro-fire-department-chief-mike-strobridge,12954.
