Harvis Brantley, age 70, passed from this life to the next on Sunday, September 19, 2021. A Celebration of Life was held at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. L. Richards officiating.
Harvis was born August 18, 1951, in Swainsboro, to the late Harvis Brantley and Lena Hannah Brantley. In search of opportunity and adventure, Harvis left Swainsboro after he graduated high school and worked for a while. He moved north to New Jersey, and would later be joined by two of his brothers. Harvis proceeded to make New Jersey his home and after several jobs, he started working at Dupont in Linden. He had an excellent work ethic and worked there for 25 years, at which point he retired. Harvis then decided to continue working and was employed by Chemtura in Fords, NJ and retired from there a few years before his untimely death. Mr. Brantley is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and brother.
Mr. Brantley leaves behind his wife, Edna; children, Harvis III, Melissa, and Matthew; five siblings and their wives; six grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extende3d family, and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
