‘For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ - John 3:16
We will celebrate Easter this Sunday, March 31. Children around Emanuel County are anxiously awaiting Peter Cottontail, hoping that he’ll fill their Easter baskets with chocolate bunnies, yellow peeps, prize eggs, and other goodies! Of course, there’s more to Easter than our favorite rabbit and the treats that he leaves behind. Easter is a reminder that Jesus Christ died for our sins on Calvary and rose again.
Pictured are Brad, Jessley and Jessica McKenzie admiring a sculpture recreating the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross, crafted by the late Keith Thompson. Mr. Thompson always enjoyed drawing and painting but had never created a statue. He said that Jesus inspired and led him as he worked on the project. His hope was that someone would be touched by the creation.
We at The Forest-Blade hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter. Our office will be closed March 29 in observance of Good Friday.
