Gregory To Retire After 30 Years

A retirement celebration for Chief Master Sergeant Daniel Lee Gregory will take place on Friday, March 15, at Davis Manthan U.S. Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.

Chief Master Sgt. Gregory enlisted in the Air Force as an aircraft armament specialist in 1992 and took over the position of 56th Maintenance Group Wing Weapons Superintendent on March 3, 2018 at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. Since holding this position, Gregory has advised the maintenance group commander on all aircraft armament and weapons-related issues while preparing more than 400 assigned 2WL personnel in maintaining 138 F-16 and F-25 aircraft valued at more than $5.5 billion. He has also been responsible for establishing procedures and enforcing standards of discipline associated with aspects of aircraft armament maintenance to enable the training of 300 pilots across six courses in coordination with eight parent nations.

Chief Master Sgt. has served a variety of maintenance positions, including Weapons Load Team Chief, Weapons Safety Manager, Loading Standardization Superintendent, Armament System Flight Chief and Assistant AMU Superintendent. His maintenance background consists of various weapon systems, including A-10C, F-15C, F-16C1D, F/A-22 and F/A35 aircrafts.

Throughout his military career, Chief Master Sergeant Gregory has served in numerous air force bases, including Texas, Germany, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Qatar, Somalia, Korea, Italy, and Sumter - South Carolina as well as Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, where he went to college. He has also traveled to many different air force bases to give advice on weapons maintenance and safety and has made lots of friends during his 30 years of service. Being a natural mentor, Chief Master Sgt. Gregory has always been eager to give new recruits helpful advice as they begin their military journey with the U.S. Airforce.

Degrees earned by Chief Master Sgt. Gregory throughout his air force career include a Bachelor of Science in technical management from Embry - Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA in human resource management from Columbia Southern University.

Chief Master Sgt. Gregory is married to Catherine Stont Gregory of Virginia and is father to one son, Kody Gregory of Marietta, and two step-sons, Christopher Fisher and Brenden (Elise) Fisher, all of Virginia. He is also a grandfather to Emma Grace Fisher of Virginia, daughter of Brenden and Elise. His parents are Lillian Keen Gregory of Swainsboro and the late Leonard L. Gregory of Swainsboro. Grandparents include the late Lee and Sara Wood Gregory of Midville and the late Verton and Jackquline Kicklighter Keen of Soperton.
