Governor Kemp Visits Emanuel County

A crowd of several hundred joined Georgia Governor Brain Kemp this past Friday as he once again visited Emanuel County to provide an update on issues in Atlanta and across the state. Under picture perfect skies in an outdoor address, the Governor commented on the record of continuing positive economic developments in the state as well as the local success of industrial recruitment and the improvement in jobs numbers both in Emanuel and throughout Georgia. In a reference to the ordeal of the Covid pandemic, Kemp cited the state's even-handed approach to the virus as the common sense way to protect the economy while do everything possible to safeguard the health of the general public.

Politics is never far from any conversation this year, and following his address, Governor Kemp expressed his gratitude for the support he receives. "I have always been glad to get back and visit Emanuel County. Even going back to my days as Secretary of State, this county has always been good to me, and I appreciate that very much." Kemp continued,"Every time I visit here, I am impressed with the growth. This area continues to be a major timber producer ,and Georgia relies on that strength." The Governor smiled when he recalled climbing up a 40 foot ladder to shake hands with the "Pine Tree Sitter" at a recent Pine Tree Festival. "I'm pretty sure I'm the only candidate for Governor who ever did that." Kemp will be hoping once again to get to the top of the political ladder later on this year. He faces opposition in the Republican Primary election on May 24th and and in the Nov. 8th general election.
