Mr. Gordon “Gene” Eugene Screws, Jr., 55, of Swainsboro passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at his residence following a brief illness. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Chapman Funeral Home.
Mr. Screws was born February 26, 1965, in Swainsboro, to the late Gordon Eugene Screws, Sr. and Nancy Radford Screws. Mr. Screws loved the mountains, to eat and cook, and joking and clowning around. Gene loved people and loved life. He was a member of Holton’s Chapel in Soperton. Mr. Screws is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bobbie Hackle; and nephew, Frank Hackle.
Survivors include his wife, Wandal Screws of Swainsboro; son, Robert Screws of Swainsboro; daughters, Jennifer (Grover) Vickery of Girard, Ashley (Tony) Johnson of Swainsboro; nieces, Wanda (Spencer) Wood of Adrian, Jan (Dan) Ruhs of Bonaire, Lynn (Billy) Johnson of Columbia, MS; aunt, Lulu Bell Kellam of Swainsboro; 4 grandchildren; and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
