Funeral services for Glynn Perry Rogers, 77, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Downs and Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Interment with military honors followed in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, September 28, at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines set by the local health district and CDC were placed in effect and mask were required by those attending. He passed away on Wednesday, September 23, at Augusta University Medical Center.

Mr. Glynn Perry Rogers was born on December 8, 1942 in Kite. He was a retired banker with Exchange Bank and Spivey State Bank, worked with the Department of Agriculture, and worked as a consultant with the Department of Transportation. He owned Rogers Mini Mart convenient stores in Irwinton and Milledgeville. He served as a former mobilized member of the Georgia National Guard. Rogers was a member and deacon at Faith Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, farming, and spending time with his family. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest “Geech” and Alma Price Rogers; and brother, Bobby Harold Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Annette S. Rogers of Wrightsville; a daughter, Gwen (Chip) Evans of Bartow; a son, Perry (Sheree) Rogers of Wrightsville; five grandchildren, Logan Rogers, Clark Evans, Anlee Evans, Luke Rogers, and Jake Rogers; and nephew, Greg Rogers of Ohio.

Pallbearers were Wayne Herringdine, Hugh Foskey, Lloyd Powell, Jay Foskey, Dean McNure, and Mike Brinson. Honorary pallbearers were all retired employees of Exchange Bank, Brenda Webb, David Martin, and William Lumley.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel was in charge of funeral arrangements.
