On Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the regular meeting of the Swainsboro Exchange Club mem-ber Billy Chapman had Elizabeth Gilmer as the speaker. She spoke on the operation of the Summertown Food Pantry.
She relayed that it is a partner agency of Golden Pantry Food Bank. Together they work to meet the needs of our neighbors who are hungry. The Summertown Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a 9-member board of directors. It operates the fourth Sat-urday of each month in Summertown. November and December are the third Saturday due to the holidays. Last year it served 5,873 families and 17,186 individuals.
