Four members of the Wiregrass Chapter; Wilder Smith, Jr, Steve Burke, Alton Reynolds, Dess Smith III, and one member of the Brier Creek Chapter; Lee Herron, traveled to the Sonesta Gwinnett Place in Duluth on January 27, and stayed until January 28, to attend the GASSAR Annual Conference. On Friday afternoon, several members attended the program: "The Memphis Belle & Enola Gay" and others attended the training session: "Registrar Workshop with Bob Sapp". That night all attended the Member Awards Banquet. H. Wilder Smith, Jr. received the Patriot Medal and Certificate, Dess Smith III received the President General Robert B. Vance Membership plaque and Steve Burke received the Silver Roger Sherman Medal and Certificate. On Saturday morning a memorial service was held for members that had passed during the year. After the memorial service, the GASSAR Winter Board of Managers meeting was held. Then the Annual Meeting was held to elect the 2023 GASSAR Officers. At 11:45 a.m., the Chapter & Youth Awards Luncheon and Installation of the 2023 Officers was held. The Wiregrass Chapter and Brier Creek Chapter were awarded numerous Georgia Society awards.
