Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mr. Fred Grimes "Freddy" Mason Jr., age 60, of Swainsboro, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Emanuel Medical Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 25, n the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Whitehead officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family received friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 25, from 12 p.m. until the time of services.
Pallbearers were Dustin Watkins, Michael Bender, Stuart Mason, Cameron Watkins, Shannon Mason, and Chuck Mason.
Mr. Mason was born in Swainsboro to the late Fred G. and Reba Grace Whitehead Mason Sr. He was member of the Georgia National Guard. Freddy loved watching football with friends and family. He was a very helpful man, always more than happy to lend help whenever needed for anything, and always loved making new friends. Freddy dearly loved his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mason is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Douglas Mason; grandparents, Leonard and Myrtle Mason and Jack and Lenora Skinner Whitehead.
Survivors include his sons, Fred G. "Trey" Mason, III (Jade) and Eric Scott Mason (Brittany); grandchildren, Aden Mason, Dallin Mason, Dekota Mason, Kiley Mason, Landon Mason, Caroline Mason, and Owen Cheeks; sisters, Frances Mason Bender and Tammy Mason Watkins (Glen); nieces and nephews, Michael Bender, Tiffani Burns, Alexa Watkins, Dustin Watkins, and Cameron Watkins; great-nieces, Brynlie Burns, Brooklyn Burns, Millie Watkins, and Mason Watkins; and many other extended family members.
Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
