Franklin Memorial Library takes Story Time to school

Posted

On April 20 and April 21, Franklin Memorial Library Children's Coordinator Jessica Appleby and Library Assistant Shari Watt made consecutive visits to Swainsboro Primary School to perform this month's Story Time show in-person for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Keeping everyone's health and safety the priority, school administration and library staff coordinated together to make a schedule that worked well within the parameters of social distancing and mask consciousness by performing for each Kindergarten class individually.
The theme of this Story Time performance was centered around Earth Day, which is an annual holiday on April 22. Watt and Appleby used storytelling and puppetry to keep students engaged while educating them on some of today's most detrimental environmental crises, and what we all can do to help.
Franklin Memorial Library looks forward to coordinating with Swainsboro Primary School again in the future.
