Mr. Franklin Larry Archer, 91, of Swainsboro, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness. Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 20, in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Jamie Archer and Reverend George Archer officiating.
Mr. Archer was born July 2, 1931, in Emanuel County, to Sam Archer and Lora Dickerson Archer. He was a jokester and care provider for over 40 years. Franklin enjoyed fox and rabbit hunting. He was a Deacon at Son Light Inn in Dellwood, where he also served as Elder. Mr. Archer is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 64 years, Yvonne Henry Archer; brothers, Buddy Archer, Chancey Archer, Bill Archer, J. B. Archer, and Sammy Archer; sisters, Ruby Roberts, Annie Bell Lockhart, Bonnie Lou Johnson, Sallie Mae Woods, and Kate Terry.
Survivors include his son, Randy Archer (Karson) of Sevierville, TN; daughters, Gayle Archer Lee (Jim) of Twin City and Kathy Archer Bracewell (John) of Wears Valley, TN; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
