Five sentenced in Superior Court

The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court January 2023 term:

Kyle Matthew Edenfield negotiated a plea of guilty-Alford on one count possession of oxycodone. He was fined $1,000 with three years probation; one count possession of alprazolam with three years probation; DUI-drugs and was fined $1,000 with 12 months probation; Drugs not in a regional container with 12 months probation; Suspended license with 12 months probation; Speeding with 12 months probation. Defendant is sentenced for a total of six years to be served on probation.

Chevy Clay Sluder, negotiated a plea of guilty-Alford on one count felony fleeing. He was fined $5,000 with two years to serve (Rec. CAT II Program); Driving while license suspended with 12 months probation. Defendant is sentenced to a total of three years with the first two years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of two years the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation PROVIDED that the defendant shall comply with Conditions of Probation imposed by the court as part of this sentence.

Verlon Wadley, a repeat offender, negotiated a plea of guilty for possession of cocaine with intent; he was fined $50 with 40 years, five years to serve, Bal. Prob.; obstruction of an officer with 12 months to serve; suspended license with 12 months to serve; no proof of insurance with 12 months to serve; window tint violation with 12 months to serve; Defendant is sentenced to a total of 40 years with the first five years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of five years the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation PROVIDED that the defendant shall comply with Conditions of Probation imposed by the court as part of this sentence. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Verlon Wadley, a repeat offender, negotiated a plea of guilty for aggravated assault. He was fined $50 with 20 years, five years to serve, Bal. Prob.; Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony with five years probation; aggravated assault with 20 years, five years to serve, Bal. Prob.; Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony with five years probation; possession of firearm by convicted felon with ten years, five years to serve, Bal. Prob. Defendant is sentenced to a total of 30 years with the first five years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of five years the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation PROVIDED that the defendant shall comply with Conditions of Probation imposed by the court as part of this sentence. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Shana Marie Stevens, a repeat offender, negotiated a plea of guilty for possession of meth. She was fined $50 with three years probation, RSAT susp.; possession drug related objects with 12 months probation; driving while license suspended with 12 months probation and was fined $500; failure to wear a seatbelt and was fined $15. Defendant is sentenced to a total of five years to be served on probation. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Anthony Homan, a repeat offender, negotiated a plea of guilty-Alford for possession of meth. He was fined $1,00 with three years probation, 90-120 PDC; obstruction with 12 months probation; criminal trespassing with 12 months probation. Defendant is sentenced to a total of five years to be served on probation. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).
