At 8:42 am on Wednesday November 17, Swainsboro firefighters were called to a structure fire at 3 Christopher Drive Extension. Units responding observed a large column of black smoke in the distance. Due to this, additional units were requested from Dellwood and Adrian. Engine 200 arrived to find a 12 x 24 storage building totally engulfed in flames. A 1 3/4-inch attack line was quickly deplored to prevent fire from spreading to the adjacent home. Due to being outside the city water main and hydrants, tank water from the responding units and drafting from a pond were the only source of water. The building was destroyed. No injuries were reported, the cause is unknown at this time.
