Fields arrested for operation of narcotics network

A joint investigation between Swainsboro Police Department, Richmond County Sheriffs Office, and former Chief of Police of Twin City resulted in the arrest of a Swainsboro resident and the recovery of over $17,000 in cash in the Swainsboro/Twin City area.

The six-month investigation culminated with the arrest of Justin Fields in Augusta for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute as well as multiple warrants from the Swainsboro Police Dept.  Subsequent searches and investigation lead to the recovery of the currency.

Fields, who is on federal probation, had been operating a narcotics network that stretched from Atlanta to Augusta with a base of operation in the Swainsboro area.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated.
