FBLA students encourages community participation in March of Dimes benefit

Swainsboro High School and Emanuel County Institute Future Business Leaders of America chapters are raising money for the March of Dimes, a national service partner of FBLA, by hosting a Blue Jeans For Babies benefit on Tuesday, November 17, in effort to raise awareness of premature birth.

In doing so, club members are encouraging local businesses and organizations to participate in this project to raise awareness and money and are asking that participating company employees pay $5 to wear jeans on November 17 or another day of the employer’s choice during the month of November. Each participating employee will receive a March of Dimes ribbon to wear on the participating day from SHS and ECI FBLA. An FBLA member will be assigned to your organization to deliver materials and pickup donations.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the organization funds programs of research, education, community service, and advocacy to save babies. Each year, SHS and ECI FBLA sponsors a variety of projects to raise awareness and money to support the mission of the March of Dimes.
