Empowering Future Leaders: Swainsboro JROTC Cadets explore opportunities at Georgia Southern University

Posted

Thirty-three Swainsboro High School JROTC Tiger Battalion cadets attended an ROTC scholarship presentation and Georgia Southern University campus tour. The cadets learned about leadership, officership, and what it takes to be a cadet at a senior Army ROTC program. One of Swainsboro's former SHS Tiger Battalion commanders, now Georgia Southern ROTC Cadet, Staff Sergeant Hayleigh Jordan, spoke to our Cadets and gave them insight into the life of an Army Cadet. We are super proud of Cadet Jordan and thank her for leading the way. Also, former SHS student Georgia Army National Guard Soldier and future Savannah State University Eagle Battalion Cadet Kiera Moses spoke to our Cadets about Basic Combat Training and Army Individual Training. Our cadets had a great time touring the campus, and SFC Robinson and Major Oliver are super excited about our program and the growth of our cadets.
