Emanuel Medical Center has been named a Level IV Trauma Center by following the guidelines of the Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of EMS and Trauma and the American College of Surgeons document “Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient”. Emanuel Medical Center was reviewed for re-designation as a Level IV Trauma Center on September 13.

After review of all related documents and being visited by the site team, EMC was re-designated as a Georgia Level IV Trauma Center. The designation will be for a period of three years, expiring in September 2024.

“The administration and staff of Emanuel Medical Center have clearly demonstrated dedication

to the care of trauma patients in Georgia. You are an asset to your community and the citizens

you serve,” Kathleen E. Toomey, M.D., M.P.H. Commissioner, Georgia Department of Public Health.
