Emanuel County to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. with a weekend long event

Saturday January 14, wake up and join our youth at the Vann Community Center in downtown Swainsboro for the 12th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Breakfast at 10:00 a.m. The morning speaker will be Reverend Ranecci Hampton, special guests Burke County High School Gospel Choir, The Annointed, and Tribe of Judah. On Sunday evening, January 15, visit St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church at 231 S. Racetrack Street in Swainsboro for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Commemorative Service. The evenings guest speaker will be mayor of Statesboro, Honorable Johnathan M. McCollar. At 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, join our locals in downtown Swainsboro for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade.
