Emanuel County Institute celebrated its Homecoming Week September 26-30. The
celebration was kicked off by a resurrection of the Homecoming Dance, sponsored by ECI’s
One Act Play group. Students danced the night away under black lights and neon decor with the
“Time to Glow” theme. During the week, students participated in dress-up days including
PJ/Tacky Day, Adam Day, Sunday Best Day, and Neon Day. Though the week was shortened by
Hurricane Ian, the students were still able to show their Bulldog pride at a parade and get their
“ne-on” at the neon themed pep rally on Thursday. Homecoming Week was brought to a close
by a victory over Jefferson County at the football game and the crowning of the Homecoming
King and Queen Lawson Mercer and Sullee Boddiford.
