Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Ellen Faircloth Payne Patterson, 82, of Swainsboro, on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her residence.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Casey Shaw officiating.

Pallbearers were Ricky Coleman, Andy Boatright, Greg Patterson, Jeff Patterson, Wade Bedingfield, and Chris Ellison.

Mrs. Patterson was born January 12, 1938 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County to the late Martin and Pauline Coleman Faircloth and was a 1956 honor graduate of ECI. She was previously employed with the Federal Land Bank, Carrlee Grocery, March of Dimes, Franklin Memorial Library, and retired from Mid Atlantic as a food broker. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church, a charter member and past president of the Swainsboro Jaycettes, and co-owner of Payne-Schwabe Motors. Her passion was her family as she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was becoming quite tech-savvy on her telephone, learning to text family and friends and enjoyed games, especially color by numbers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Payne.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Douglas T. Patterson of Swainsboro; daughter, Teresa Mason (Gary) of Swainsboro; son, Marty Payne (Barbara) of Hiawassee; grandchildren, Payne Mason, Jordan Kelley (Tyler), and Tiffany Payne; great-grandchildren, Hollice Kelley and Harrison Kelley; step-daughter, Robin Hill of Social Circle; step-sons, Greg Patterson (Terri) of Conyers and Jeff Patterson (GiGi) of Montezuma; step-grandchildren, Anna Payne, Chan Patterson (Kayla), Douglas Patterson, Daniel Hill, Gregory Hill, Erin Marciano (Rob), Lindsay Patterson (Storm); step-great-grandchildren, John Roberts Payne, Theron Payne, Aubrey Patterson, Memphis Patterson, Madelyn Marciano, Mason Marciano, Reed Patterson, Chandler Patterson, Maddox Patterson and Dylan Dehaven; and nieces, nephew, aunts, uncle, sister-in-law, cousins and extended family.
