The January 2023 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury convened Friday, January 27, with the Honorable Robert S. Reeves presiding. The grand jurors elected Paul Dorsett to serve as foreperson, Mary Kirkland to serve as assistant foreperson and Kaitlyn Arnold to serve as clerk. The grand jurors and the bailiff, John Allen Bailey, were sworn by Judge Reeves as to their duties.
The District Attorney’s Office presented eight bills of indictment to the Grand Jury and the Grand Jury returned seven true bills and one no bill.
Peggy Ann Milton: Malice Murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of firearm during the commission of a felony
Georgiana Nicole Stevens: Sell of meth
Xavier Antoine Reese: Aggravated assault, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, cruelty to children 2nd degree, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony
Jacob Andrew Brannon: Trafficking meth or amphetamine, possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, speeding, and operation a vehicle containing a secret compartment
John Adam Music: Driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, failure to maintain lane
Lakreshia Zakill Jacobs: Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession of schedule II-controlled substance, possession of firearm during commission of a felony
Kelvin Leon Kirkland: Malice Murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, cruelty to children first degree, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony
Carlton Lee Daniels: Aggravated assault, public drunkenness
