EGSC to host virtual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Jan. 21

East Georgia State College is hosting their Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration virtually this year. The video event will go live at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2021. The celebration will be available on EGSC's Facebook page and YouTube page. EGSC Interim President Dr. Dawn Cartee will open the event, followed by students who will be performing skits and songs. The guest speaker for the event is Dr. Linda Perkins McRae.
The Reverend Dr. Linda Perkins McRae, a native of Statesboro, Ga., is an author, teacher, spiritual leader, life coach, professional counselor, motivational speaker and cancer survivor. Dr. McRae’s drive and passion for life is evident in her personal and professional pursuits.
Dr. Linda is the President/CEO of HOPE Counseling & Consulting Services, Inc. (HOPE), a clinical practice that provides programs and services that seek to promote hope and healing providing outpatient substance use disorder treatment, mental health and behavioral health services. HOPE has four locations in North Carolina (2 downtown Winston-Salem, Thomasville and Reidsville).

Dr. Linda's commitment to helping others is evident through her lifestyle of service. She serves as CEO of Amazing Grace Ministries, where she oversees a weekly radio broadcast on WSLT in Savannah, Ga. and an annual conference to serve the community of her hometown in Bulloch County and the surrounding areas, providing clothing, food and financial resources. She and her husband founded More Than Conquerors, Inc. (MTC) in 1997. MTC’s focus is three-fold: to inspire, educate and transform lives.
Dr. Linda completed a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University Divinity School in 2003. She completed a Master of Social Work at North Carolina A&T State University and UNC-Greensboro in 2007. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Master’s Addiction Counselor, Certified Sex Offender Therapist, Substance Abuse Professional and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. She completed a Doctor of Psychology degree at Graduate Theological Foundation in 2016.
Above all of her accomplishments, Dr. Linda considers supporting her husband, Reverend Ronald Lee McRae, in ministry at Little Salem Christian Church and being an example to their children and grandchildren her primary purpose and greatest accomplishments. As a mother of eight, she firmly believes in being an active role model to her family, demonstrating the love of God in lifestyle and service.
