East Georgia State College’s online nursing program was recently recognized for its affordability by Education Reference Desk. EGSC is ranked as No. 6 nation-wide. This list highlights 24 schools, all of which offer affordable online nursing degrees.
Colleges and universities were rated by their tuition cost, their accreditation and if they offer at least one fully online nursing degree.

Our nursing faculty have years of experience in nursing education and clinical practice, ensuring quality and rigor of the program while providing a personal experience for each student,” said Dr. Linda Upchurch, Director of the BSN Program at EGSC.
EGSC’s RN-BSN Bridge Program began in 2016 to create an educational pathway for associate degree nurses to earn an advanced credential. The program appeals to working nurses and recent associate degree in nursing graduates and is a targeted baccalaureate-level program that fills an immediate need in the area. The program consists of 120 credit hours and requires students to have an unrestricted license that allows them to practice in the state of Georgia. Students must meet all requirements and be accepted under regular admission status to EGSC with the RN-BSN Program as their designated major. To be accepted into the program, potential students must have graduated from an associate degree or diploma registered nurse program, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, a grade of C or higher in all pre-requisite courses, and must have completed all required core courses. Students may petition the nursing program director for special consideration if all core courses are not completed. Students are admitted into the RN-BSN Bridge Program based on competitive selection and space availability.
"The EGSC RN-BSN Bridge program is an excellent option for students in terms of cost, qualified faculty, and wholly online instruction,” said Dr. Sandra Sharman, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. “The BSN program at EGSC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and is structured so that students will complete the degree in four semesters. For many students, this is an attractive facet of the BSN program since they also work full-time as registered nurses while they take the bachelor's level classes. EGSC is pleased to provide local communities throughout the region with graduates in nursing who will help meet urgent health care needs."
