EGSC Athletes make NJCAA All-Academic Team for 2020-2021

The East Georgia State College Athletic Department is proud to announce that 10 student athletes have qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Team for the 2020-2021 year. Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher.

The criteria for the NJCAA All-Academic First Team is to have a 4.00 GPA. EGSC men’s basketball player Preston Crisp (Savannah, Ga.) received this recognition along with softball player Taylor Elliot and baseball player Robert Chase Kirkland (Alma, Ga.).

Baseball player Elliot Vickery and women’s basketball player Esperanza Castro (Hinesville, Ga.) received the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team recognition for having a 3.80-3.99 GPA.

Five student athletes were awarded the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team. For this recognition the students had to have a 3.60-3.79 GPA. Softball players Madison Bussell, Sierra Taylor, and Tabitha Mimbs received this honor. Baseball players Colton Lopez (Keysville, Ga.) and Jim Brown (Bremen, Ga.) were also named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team.
