ECSO, SPD joint operation sting land arrest of Summertown residents

On Friday afternoon, March 11, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) investigators and Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) detectives executed a search warrant on Johnson Powell Road in north Emanuel County that led to the arrest of 46-year-old Alvin Douglas York and 40-year-old Ginger Clorice Coleman, both of Summertown.

According to information released by ECSO, York has been charged with trafficking meth, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and numerous theft by receiving stolen property. Coleman also received charges, including trafficking meth, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. York and Coleman appeared before Magistrate Court Judge Dawn Braddy Monday, March 14, for their first appearance hearing and both were held without bond.

Recovered in the search were three four-wheelers, a zero turn lawnmower, a chainsaw, air compressors, weed eater, ammunition, firearms, a climbing deer stand and a great number of tools.
