July 18

Deputies responded to 5th Ave in Stillmore in reference to a female that was irate and trying to hit people and cars as they drove by the street. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with the caller who advised that the offender had lost it and was very irate walking down the street. Deputy made contact with offender and when he tried talking to her, she flipped him off and cussed him, and continued walking away from deputy after several times of being told to stop and talk to him. Offender then walked back to the 5th Ave. residence and stood on the porch yelling and cussing at neighbors. She then approached deputy’s patrol unit with a purse and hand full of clothing and wanted to get in the back seat. Deputy asked where she wanted to go and she said “anywhere but here”. Offender allowed deputy to search her belongings for any weapons before getting into his patrol unit, then all of a sudden got upset again and tried to shove him and started yelling at neighbors again as back up arrived. Offender then went back to the patrol unit and got in the back seat and secured herself in the backseat. Neighbors advised that she suffers from mental illnesses and she needed some kind of help. Offender was highly irate and was taken to EmCo Jail for disorderly conduct and evaluated by professions.

July 19

Deputy observed a vehicle on Hwy 80 E. traveling at a faster speed than the vehicle behind it and asset his radar to confirm the vehicle was speeding at 78 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The vehicle passed deputy’s stopped location, at which time deputy turned on his emergency equipment lights and siren and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle turned into a driveway as the deputy was some distance behind it and when deputy turned into the driveway, he could not see the truck. He continued down the driveway and finally observed the vehicle and it finally came to a stop and the driver attempted to exit the vehicle and was told to stay in the vehicle. Once making contact with the driver, deputy could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and had the driver step out of the vehicle. Offender stated he had just left court for problems with his license and also admitted to smoking the marijuana cigarette while driving and that he did feel high.

Deputy met with complainant about a stolen cell phone.

Complainant went to the SO to file a report about his neighbor having two pit bulls that keep going on his property. C/p stated the dogs have killed three of his kittens and eats the cat food he leaves out for them. He stated he knows he has the right to protect himself and his property and wanted to make a report in case something happens. Deputy explained that he had to be able to articulate that if anything more serious were to occur and he stated he understood.

Deputy received a call from complainant who stated her boyfriend’s daughter and boyfriend yelled at her, turned off the power to the camper she was residing in, and taking the breaker switches for the camper out of the breaker box. C/p stated that they were still at the location so deputy responded to Ed Youmans Rd. and spoke with c/p. She stated she moved back into the camper about 3 weeks ago and that the property belongs to her boyfriend. C/p further stated that she had never paid any bills there and her boyfriend had been until her was arrested in February. She stated offender and his girlfriend went to the camper and stated yelling at her and threatening her and telling her she owes them $50 for the power bill. She stated after she refused to pay them, they turned the power off to her camper and took the breaker switches out of the box. Deputy then spoke with offender and his girlfriend who stated that c/p just recently moved back in the camper and was informed she needed to help pay for the power bill since she was using it as well but refused to pay. Offender started attempting to fix a push mower that belonged to his girlfriend’s father and c/p started yelling at them that it belonged to her and he could not use it. Offender and girlfriend were informed that they could not turn off the power and to fix the breakers, and was informed of the civil court procedure. Offender’s girlfriend then stated her grandfather owns all the property and she would speak with hem about getting c/p evicted. Both parties were informed that they were criminally trespassed form each other’s structural residence and if they were found in them without permission, they could be arrested.

Complainant stated someone stole the motor off of her Murray Lawn Mower on Hwy 23 N. She stated it was new and that it was removed in a way so that none of the wiring was damaged. Victim feels that a relative that lives in Mille3n may have taken it.

Complainant went to the SO and requested a report about her landlord requesting she clean the residence because she was supposed to be vacating it. C/p had also recently purchased a vehicle from offender which she stated she had taken a loan out from the bank for. She also stated she went to the residence to clean and when she went outside, the vehicle was gone. C/p stated she has spoken with offender and he informed her that the bank repossessed the vehicles and that if she cleaned the residence, she would get the vehicle back. C/p stated she was up-to-date on all her payments for the vehicle and it should not have been repossessed and that she was not concerned about the vehicle, she just wanted her belongings out of it. She stated her wallet, drive3r’s license, ss card, clothing, and possibly her birth certificate was in it.

July 20

Deputy observed a vehicle without a license plate, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Deputy approached the vehicle and made contact with offender, a passenger, and two juvenile back seat passengers. Deputy informed them of the reason for the stop and offender stated they just purchased the vehicle and provided a BOS. Deputy asked for offender’s license and he stated he did not have a valid license. Offender willingly stepped out of the vehicle and the passenger stated they had a valid license and provided it. Deputy had the passenger step out of the vehicle and he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Offender had suspended license and marijuana was found in the vehicle.

July 21

Deputies were requested to assist TCPD with a vehicle chase. It was advised that TCPD was attempting to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle in reference to a reported theft. TCPD advised the vehicle was fleeing and pursued the vehicle into Tumpy Rd. Prior to deputy’s arrival, TCPD advised the fleeing vehicle drove into a wooded area where TCPD officer lost sight of it. It was later determined who the driver of the vehicle was. Deputies searched the area for offender and a vehicle matching the description but were unable to locate either at the time.

Deputies were dispatched to Perch Rd. for a welfare check after multiple hang up calls. Upon arrival, deputy met with the homeowner who advised everything was ok. Homeowner had been cutting grass and advised the emergency call on his phone may have accidentally been activated.

Deputies were dispatched to Beasley Rd. in reference to a welfare check. Complainant wished for a welfare check be done on her brother after not hearing from him for an extended period of time. Upon arrival, deputy met with witness who appeared to have been asleep at the time c/p had been calling. Witness advised everything was ok at the residence and he would make contact with c/p.

Deputies responded to Hwy 56 N. in reference to a male laying in the roadway that was possibly struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, EMS and Sheriff were on scene and discovered that the offender was intoxicated and had apparently fallen off his bicycle. Offender refused to be seen or transported by EMS and deputies were giving him a ride home. Deputy walked offender to his patrol unit and asked if he had any weapons on his person and he said “I’m just getting off work”. Deputy advised offender that he had to be searched before sitting in the back seat and proceeded to check offender’s person and he snatched away. Deputy then informed offender that he was just checking for weapons and offender then tried snatching away and reaching for his cargo pocket on his pants. Deputy then took offender to the ground and told him repeatedly to stop fighting and offender continued fighting even after he was on the ground. Backup deputy then assisted and they were able to get offender in to custody and transported him to EmCo Jail.

Deputy responded to Hawhammock Church Rd. in reference to a tree in the roadway. Upon arrival, the road was fully blocked by a large broken limb that was still attached to the tree. Deputy stood by for the Road Dept. to arrive and helped clear the roadway.

Deputy responded to Old Reidsville Rd. in reference to unwanted people in complainant’s yard. Deputy did not see anyone in the yard and made contact with c/p, who advised that people were trying to kidnap her husband from the yard. Deputy then asked where the husband was and she advised that he was inside watching TV. C/p then advised that the people trying to take her husband came down the trees and jumped her fence and left running back up the trees. Deputy searched the area and did not find anyone. He then talked to dispatch and they advised that the c/p called the day before with a similar story.

Deputies responded to Scarboro Church Rd. in reference to a possible domestic. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with both parties and complainant advised that her nephew had been irate and tried breaking the TV. C/p also stated that he has not been taking his meds for a few weeks and has been acting out. Offender advised that he could not remember if he was irate and admitted to not taking his meds due to being out and hasn’t been to the doctor. Offender and c/p wanted offender to be evaluated by professional for mental illness and deputies called EMS to transport him to the hospital.

Deputies responded to Parham Rd. in reference to a low hanging power line. Upon arrival, deputies observed the line touching the ground and observed the line to be an AT&T phone line. Deputies then asked 911 to contact AT&T and advised them of the incident. Emanuel 911 advised deputies on scene and that they did not contact phone companies so deputy called AT&T and notified them of the downed lines.

July 22

Deputy responded to Hwy 121 N. in reference to an alarm call. Upon arrival, deputy walked the perimeter of the residence and checked doors and windows for signs of attempted forced entry. All doors and windows appeared to be secure and intact with no visible signs of forced entry.

Offender was arrested at Superior Court Probation on an outstanding arrest warrant and transported to EmCo Jail. Without incident.

Complainant stated she had a video of suspect on her property after being told by the court that he had to be gone by midnight on 7/21. C/p was advised of the warrant process.

Deputy responded to Abb Jonson Rd. in reference to a suspicious vehicle that was in front of the church for over 2 hours. Upon arrival, deputy got out with a vehicle that was suck in the ditch and the victim was in the driver seat. Upon checking on the victim, deputy discovered the victim did not have a license and didn’t want to talk much. Deputy did not suspect any drug or alcohol use and the victim wanted to have the car towed and walk home. Deputy gave her the option of waiting on the tow truck and possibly riding with the driver or even calling a licensed family member to pick her up and drive her vehicle away. Victim did not want to do any of that and advised she lived in Rentz and just wanted to walk and later she would look for her car. Victim was allowed to leave the scene and the vehicle was towed.

Deputies were dispatched to Blackberry Trl. In reference to an alarm. The key holder requested a deputy to check the residence to ensure that the listed location was secure. Upon arrival, deputy walked the perimeter and a key was in one of the rear doors and notified 911 that the back doors of the residence were open. Additional deputies arrived on scene and cleared the bottom and top levels of the home. Nothing was found to be tampered with. After clearing the location, deputies checked the remaining doors and windows for signs of attempted forced entry. The remaining doors and windows appeared to be secure and intact with no visible signs of forced entry. After securing the location, 911 was notified that the key found in the back door would be given to Major and that everything was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 1 in reference to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, Fire Fighters were on scene. Complainant stated flames burst out from under the hood and after pulling over on the side of the road, her boyfriend arrived and put sand and water on the engine to put the fire out. As a result of the engine catching on fire, the vehicle was not able to be driven and was towed.

Deputies were dispatched to N. Old Reidsville Rd. in reference to complainant believing several people were standing across the street in a think bushy area planning to hurt her and one had a rifle. Upon arrival, deputies met with c/p and through previous calls of the same nature, deputies knew c/p to possibly be experiencing some form of mental illness. Deputies checked the area around the residence and c/p stated she saw the man again while deputies were on scene. Deputies then searched the area across the street to assure c/p it was secure. After the search, it was found to have no foot traffic nor did it have anyone there. C/p’s son stated he was going to take c/p to FL with him to get her some help.

Deputies were dispatched to Tate Youmans Rd. in reference to a theft.

Deputies were dispatched to Bird Flanders Rd. in reference to a physical altercation. Offenders traveled to the location to remove property that belonged to one of them and a physical altercation occurred.

July 23

Deputy responded to Hwy 80 E in Twin City for a theft call. Upon arrival, he spoke with complainant who stated he left the day before for the weekend and left his lawn mower in the yard and when returned, it was no longer there. C/p stated he was unsure who could have taken it but believes his ex-wife may have something to do with it.

Complainant’s stated when they got home, they went to the vehicle to get some things out of it and noticed someone had been in the vehicle and stole two pair of Costa sunglasses and a money clip with license, a company gas card, and two credit cards.

Deputy met with complainant on St. Galilee Rd. in reference to a call concerning an unidentified subject who had been seen on the property attempting to remove a zero-turn mower. C/p stated an identified subject attempted to remove to mower because of a debt owed by victim.

Deputy responded to the Probation Office for a probation violation. Upon arrival, deputy met with probation officer who showed him who the offender was, as she was in an office with a probation officer and they were speaking about the situation. Offender stated she had been taking her meds and the probation officer stated she had not been taking them properly. Deputy was informed that all necessary paperwork had already been sent to the jail.

July 24

Deputy met with complainant on Hwy 297 in reference to damage to property on two vehicles. C/p stated he left his house and both vehicles appeared to be ok, but when he returned home, there were severe damages to the windshields. Damages appeared to have been caused by a large object consistent with that of a large rock or cinder block. Upon further investigation, small traces of dirt and debris was found on the shattered glass, which suggested offender used an object of opportunity. A walk through of the property was made in an attempt to locate any objects that could have been used but nothing of interest could be located. In the course of the investigation, deputy was advised from a nearby neighbor that a suspicious vehicle was seen in close proximity of the incident location. C/p stated he did not suspect anyone and did not know why someone would have damaged the vehicles.

Deputy was in route to a call on Christopher Dr. for an unwanted male subject at the house. As he was turning onto Stallion Rd, he observed a vehicle driving towards him partially on the wrong side of the road. Deputy moved slightly right attempting to avoid so he could continue in route to the call but as the vehicle got closer, it swerved all the way into deputy’s lane and he had to steer into the grass off the roadway to avoid a collision. The vehicle continued past the patrol unit and the deputy started to make a U-turn to initiate a traffic stop. During the U-turn, deputy observed the vehicle to be stopped at the stop sign in the wrong lane. Deputy proceeded after the vehicle with his emergency lights and siren on and the vehicle came to a stop on Hwy 1 N. Deputy approached the vehicle and immediately smelled the odor of alcoholic beverage. Deputy spoke with offender and the front passenger and asked for the driver’s license and he didn’t respond. Deputy asked for his license again and he still did not respond. After asking the third time, offender very sluggishly began searching for it but was unable to find it. At this time, deputy requested 911 to call GSP due to the odor of alcohol and offender’s actions. Offender asked if he could exit the vehicle to find his license and he was allowed to do so but he began sticking his hand in between the seat and center console and deputy advised his to stop the action and exit the vehicle entirely. Deputy had offender step to the front of his patrol unit and he stated he may have a warrant. Trooper arrived on scene and another deputy went to the call on Christopher Dr. and it was found that offender was the unwanted subject.

911 dispatched a call to Liberty St. in reference to a missing juvenile. Deputies assisted SPD with the search of the area.

Deputy responded to Old Reidsville Rd. for a female complainant stating there were men in her yard with rifles. Deputy dealt with c/p the night prior with the same situation and deputies were informed that c/p was not in a correct state of mind and may be having hallucinations. Deputy spoke with c/p’s son and he stated he did not see anyone around the residence, but stated that he and his mother should be leaving the residence the next morning and going to his residence in FL to stay for a while.

Deputies responded to Strawberry Cir. in reference to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with c/p who stated offender went to her residence and later discovered she had stolen items for c/p’s residence.

July 25

Deputies assisted SPD with a perimeter search concerning the break-in of the Yamaha dealership. Two male subjects fled the scene from the rear of the business. One suspect in question was identified by witness. Both subjects were confronted by witness as the crime was in progress. Two motorcycles were recovered from a wooded area behind the dealership.

Complainant stated his brother is putting up a fence on his property and has taken a loan out on his residence without his permission. C/p also stated that about 6-7 years ago, offender cut timber off of their property without his permission.

Deputies were dispatched to I16 for a vehicle that had a blow-out and went over into the divider cables and caused severe damage to his vehicle. Upon arrival, driver refused EMS.

July 26

Complainant stated a deer left the shoulder of the roadway and entered into his lane casing his vehicle to strike the deer, causing moderate damage.
