May 8
Complainant stated her grandchildren had been taken by their other grandmother. C/o stated her grandchildren were staying with her on Old Boatright Rd. and she signed them up for school at ECI and TCE. She stated she had papers from the school saying she had Kinship Guardianship of the children and was able to deal with their school dealings. C/o stated her son still had full custody of the children but had left the house and she had not seen him for weeks. She further stated the children’s other grandmother went to her residence the previous weekend and picked them up and they were not taken back when they were supposed to be, due to the children having school the following day. Offender called c/o stating they did not have enough clothing and went to c/o’s residence to retrieve clothes and left with them again. C/o stated she was concerned about the children not being able to go to their schools. Offender was stated to be from FL but had taken the children to Monroe Co. and possibly to Blue Ridge Mountain. C/o did not seem to believe the children were in any danger, but concerned about truancy from school.
May 10
Deputies responded to Nunez-Lexsy Rd. for a prowler on complainant’s property kicking her door. While enroute, deputies received a second call for a male subject being on another c/o’s property. Upon arrival, deputies were able to make contact with suspected prowler in between the two residences being they were adjacent neighbors. C/o stated she thought the male subject may be in an altered state of mind. Deputy spoke with suspected prowler and asked for his ID but he stated he did not have one. Offender then gave deputy his name and was asked if he had ever had a GA State ID, at which time he pulled a wallet out and the deputy observed a GA State ID. Deputy then asked offender to pull the ID out and give it to him, and he reluctantly did so. Male subject was identified and his info was run through GCIC, to find that he was wanted in Em. Co. for failure to appear on obstruction charges. Deputy then informed offender of his investigation and attempted to handcuff him at which time he began to resist. Offender continued to resist deputies until he was finally detained by handcuffs and confined.
Deputy responded to Rainbow Ridge to speak with a female complainant about the father of her child. Upon arrival, c/o stated offender had broken into her residence on US 1 N, damaged a large amount of her property, and stole the child’s clothing. The residence was stated to always be unlocked and offender had lived their previously. C/o stated she was down to only two outfits for the child and that offender threatened to hurt her and showed deputy a bruise on her back. C/o also stated the last time she saw offender was over a week ago and that’s when she got the bruise. SPD was on scene and informed deputy that c/o had been jumped on the night prior and the bruise could be from that, which was purple and blue, likely fresh. Deputy spoke with offender’s grandmother who stated she knew offender had the clothes in case the child went to the residence to visit. She stated she would speak with offender when he returned. Offender was stated to live at the Rainbow Ridge residence for appx. A month prior to the call. Deputy then spoke with offender on the phone and he and witness both denied access into the residence to retrieve clothing. Offender was informed that since he was not legitimized and there were no court orders, the custodian parent did not have to grant him access to the child. C/o stated she was going to apply for a TPO, warrants, and a way to get the clothing back from the residence. There was no given proof that offender had done the said damage to the residence.
Deputy met with complainant in reference to a complaint concerning offender. C/o stated she had recently received a threatening message from offender vis FB that he would cause bodily harm and would watch c/o take her last breath. Information provided indicated that offender is outside the jurisdiction of EM. Co. and not further info was available on offender at the time of contact.
May 11
Deputies assisted SPD with the apprehension of offender who led officers and deputies on a high risk pursuit several miles of Hwy in and around the city.
While on patrol in the Oak Park area, deputies received information via radio from 911 that a concerned citizen called in with info concerning offender who had been identified as the Red Roof Gas Station. Subject had been identified as a primary aggressor and did at the time have nine active arrest warrants that included felony and misdemeanor charges that stemmed from domestic violence incident where the subject used a firearm in the commission of a crime against another. In the course of the investigation, deputies were advised that the offender had also told several family and friends that he would resist and use force if controlled by Law Enforcement. While enroute, 911 further described the vehicle that the subject was in parked behind the gas station. Upon arrival, deputy began a concentrated patrol of the area and determined through eye witness accounts that the subject had left the gas station and relocated to a sub-division just North of the gas station on Long Bay Rd. Upon arrival to the aforementioned address, deputy located the described vehicle that was at the time parked on the front lawn with the parking brakes still on. While on scene, further investigation revealed that the subject had fled into a nearby camper positioned on the property. At that point and time not knowing the full extent of the subject’s willingness and capabilities, responding deputies set up a perimeter around the camper and attempted several times to call the subject out. While on scene, deputies learned through family and friends of the subject that the subject believed in his mind that he was wanted for murder. During the course of the initial interaction, one verbal attempt was made by a family member to persuade the offender out of the camper during which time the subject would not respond. After appx. Two hours of negotiations over a loud speaker, the subject surrendered and was place under arrest without further incident. In the course of the investigation, a firearm was recovered.
Complainant stated she has a pending case against offender and offender keeps walking past her house yelling and barking at her dogs.
May 12
Deputies were dispatched to a wreck on Oak Chapel Church Rd. Upon arrival, deputy saw a vehicle that had slid into the ditch due to slick roads from heavy rain. The driver stated she felt the steering wheel lock up and slid into the ditch. Victim’s vehicle sustained minor damage.
A minor vehicle accident occurred at Swainsboro High School.
Complainant stated offender went to her residence to see her daughter and created a disturbance. C/o stated this is not the first time this has happened. C/o also stated she just doesn’t want the offender at their residence, and was advised of available remedies.
May 13
Deputies were asked to help with crowd control at EMC due to a gunshot victim that went in. Prior to deputies’ arrival, SPD requested assistance at the crime scene located on Williams St. Upon arrival, deputies assisted SPD in searching for shell casings where three casings were located in front of Lucy’s Pool Hall and a bloody footprint leading out the door of the establishment was found. Deputies then made contact with two subjects inside the establishment and gave consent to enter the premises. Deputies then located two AK47’s in a back room while clearing the property. Firearms and scene were turned over to SPD Detective.
Deputies were dispatched to Canoochee-Garfield Rd. in reference to a caller advising of children riding an ATV recklessly in the area. Deputies traveled the area but did not make any contact with any ATVs.
Deputies responded to an unattended vehicle in the turning lane on Hwy 1 N./Bird Flanders Rd. Upon arrival, deputies observed the vehicle abandoned with a blown front left tire and it was sitting partially in the turning lane with no hazard lights on. Deputy called the phone number associated with the tag and got no response. Vehicle was towed for public safety.
Deputies were dispatched to Skeeter St. in reference to a possible domestic in progress. The caller stated she could hear a female screaming “stop”. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with male subject who was sitting in his vehicle hitting his head on the steering wheel and hollering. Male subject stated he was on a conference call and was reenacting some kind of character. The spouse said everything was okay and that was his normal behavior.
Victim and her children were traveling on Canady Bridge Rd. when they met a vehicle when she heard a firearm and her windshield shattered. Deputy examined the windshield and it appeared to be a blunt object as a rock which struck the windshield. There was no penetration which a firearm would have caused.
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 in reference to a single vehicle MVA with injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and were advised by EMS that the female who is the victim was the passenger and was deceased. Coroner and GSP were on scene and it was turned over to GSP.
Deputies responded to Ben Blvd. in reference to assault/battery. Victim and offender had a disagreement and the victim stated offender was high on drugs. Victim is the 78-year-old father of offender. Offender hit victim on the left side of his head with a closed fist. There was dried blood on the victim’s ear. Victim stated offender went into victim’s bedroom and retrieved a handgun. Offender then pointed it at the victim and stated if he said anything he would go back and blow his head off. Offender is also a convicted felon. Victim then carried offender to a residence in Johnson Co. and left him.
May 14
Deputies were dispatched to Huckleberry Rd. for a vehicle stuck in the ditch. Complainant stated she traveled through soft dirt on the roadway causing the vehicle to slide into the ditch, which appeared to be true. It further appeared as though c/o attempted to free the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle bottoming out in the dirt. It appeared as though the vehicle received minor damages to plastic bumper pieces and wheel well inserts. When asked for her license for report purposes, c/o provided a Class CP Permit License. C/o was advised to contact someone with valid license to retrieve her from the location at which time she contacted her aunt who arrived a short time later and took her to her residence.
Offender was taken into Law Enforcement custody on warrants made valid through the EM. Co. Court System. Subject was transported to EM. Co. Detention Center.
Victim stated a friend gave him a 5x5 utility trailer with a Miller Bobcat 225 welder on it. Offender took the welder to the victim’s daddy’s house and victim’s daddy went to town the next morning and when he returned, the trailer and welder were missing. Victim told deputy he had talked to someone who lives on Piney Grove Church Rd. about the welder. Deputy talked to that person who stated he saw 2 men in a vehicle asking had they seen the victim’s daddy.
Complainant stated his mother’s neighbor, who is the offender, had been spraying roundup in his mother’s yard and killed a fruit tree and some of the grass. Deputy talked to offender and advised her not to spray roundup or go back in the victim’s yard.
May 15
Complainant stated her son’s dog got shot by her neighbor. Deputy asked c/o how she knew the offender was the one who shot the dog and she stated they heard a gunshot nearby, then the dog went running down the road from offender’s residence bleeding, but no one actually saw offender shoot the dog. Deputy then went to offender’s house and asked him about the incident and he stated he did not shoot the dog and had not long arrived back home from being gone all week. Offender stated he has told the c/o in the past to keep their dogs off his property because they have a big bulldog that tried to bite him in the past.
Deputy requested backup at his traffic stop due to the driver being DUI who was stopped for traveling 67 MPH in a 45 MPH zone and detected the odor of alcohol coming from offender’s person. Backup arrived on scene and advised the offender who he was and asked if she had consumed any alcoholic beverages and she stated she had. Deputy then asked offender if she would perform a Field Sobriety test and she agreed. Offender kept moving her head and would keep saying vehicles distracted her during the test and stated she had back issues and could not perform any test where she had to lift her legs. Offender then gave a breath sample into the Alco sensor and she was positive. Offender was also driving on suspended license.
Deputies responded to Robin Blvd. in reference to a domestic disturbance call dispatched through 911. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with complainant who stated she and offender had gotten into a heated argument that turned physical around which time c/o would further state offender punched her twice with a closed hand fist on the back of her left shoulder and another to the left side of her head. At the time of contact, c/o had what appeared to be a very recent open laceration to the left side of her head with fresh blood that was still present during the interview. C/o also stated that in the course of the altercation, she also struck the offender to the forehead with a cellphone in an attempt to defend herself after she had been struck first by offender. C/o stated the altercation had ensued over marriage problems that had been ongoing for some time and further stated that offender’s substance abuse was a big part of the problem. C/o refused medical attention for injuries sustained. Offender was GOA.
May 16
Victim stated she put the deposit for Rustic Grill in her vehicle under the console while it was parked at the restaurant and didn’t lock her vehicle. When she checked her vehicle about 8 hours later, it was gone. Victim stated there is an employee who got caught stealing money out of the register before, and was terminated, but later hired back.
Deputies along with MED2 responded to Tobacco Rd. I reference to a male subject who was found unresponsive. Subject was found inside the residence on the floor just outside the bathroom door with a syringe in his right hand. Scene was turned over to MED2 along with the EMSO on-call Investigator for further processing.
Deputies responded to Hwy 1 N. in reference to a dog that was attacked by another dog. Upon arriving on scene, complainant stated the neighbor’s dog behind their residence went in her yard and was playing with her dog when out of nowhere, the German Shepard attacked her dog. AC1 was contacted and advised that she would follow up with c/o.
May 17
Deputies and SPD responded to a single MVA accident at the intersection of Modoc Rd. and Fairground Rd. When they arrived, they were unable to locate anyone in or around the vehicle. There was a female’s wallet and cash sitting in the front seat of the vehicle and within a few minutes of being on scene, 911 advised that the offender, which was the owner of the vehicle, called in stating she wanted to report her vehicle stolen and had been missing for 2 hours. 911 also advised where the offender was. Deputy then advised deputy and officer to ride over to offender’s location to talk with her about what she stated to 911 about the vehicle being stolen, but when they arrived, offender refused to go outside to speak with them. While at the residence, they stated the boyfriend of the offender showed up and tried calling offender by phone and when she answered she told him that she told them that she did not want to make a report but still refused to go outside and speak with them., Deputy and officer stated they got the boyfriend to try calling her one more time to explain to her that she needed to go outside to speak with them or she could possibly be charged with false report of a crime and improper use of 911 communications. Offender then stated to them that she did not give a “blank” and hung up the phone. The vehicle was removed from the scene and transported to the impound lot.
