The Seedling Garden Club of Swainsboro, Georgia held the rededication of the Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker on Veterans Day, November 13, on the Emanuel County Courthouse lawn. As part of the ceremony, the Brier Creek Chapter Militia and the Brier Creek Artillery were invited by the garden club to close out the ceremony with their American Revolutionary War Flintlocks and cannons. After the benediction by First United Methodist Church pastor David Unkles, a three round volley was fired by the militia's flintlocks and by a 6-pounder Naval Cannon and a 3-pounder Mortar. Taps were then played by Bill Sasser.
