Eagles return from Watkinsville with 42 – 2 win

David Emanuel Academy Varsity Eagles traveled to Watkinsville last week for some football action against the Westminster Christian Academy and returned to Stillmore with a 42 – 2 win over the Lions team. Jesse Moore added the first 6 points to the scoreboard by completing a 20-yard run for an Eagle touchdown. The DEA Eagles score doubled to 12 – 0 after Racyn Faircloth ran the ball 28 yards, scoring the second touchdown in the game. A completed play from Riley Griner to Faircloth brought the score up to 14 – 0 prior to Tony Sutton completing a 35-yard run for a 20 – 0 scoreboard reflection. A two-point completed play from Griner to Randon Williams increased the Eagle team’s lead 22 – 0 and was backed by a 70-yard reception from Richard Braddy to Williams bringing the tape to 28 – 0. Griner earned the Stillmore team’s next 6 points with a 3-yard run that was backed by a completed 2-point play from Cavan Calhoun to Ebb McCullough for a 36 – 2 score. A 6-yard run completed by Billy Martin capped off the Eagle team’s winning tally at a final 42 – 2 score. The Eagles will feature “Senior Night” at their next game set for October 6 in Stillmore against Covenant Academy.
