Eagles on a winning streak

David Emanuel Academy’s varsity Eagles traveled to Covington Academy on September 3 to compete against the Bulldogs. The Eagles returned home with a region game victory of 54-12.

Racyn Faircloth added the first 6 Eagle points of the game with a 30-yard run touchdown. Banks Booth and Timothy Braddock increased the score to 8-0.

Holding the Covington Bulldogs' back, Rylie Rowland completed a 48-yard touchdown pass sent from Dane Arrington, bringing the score to 14-0. Booth and Faircloth added 2 additional points to the scoreboard to make the score 16-0.

Adding more points to make the scoreboard 22-6, Brayden Smith completed a 1-yard run. A play completed by Booth and Braddock brought the score up to 24-6.

Following a 20-yard run made by Arrington, the Eagles’ lead increased to 30-6. The following attempted 2-point conversion was unsuccessful.

A 38-yard touchdown pass from Booth to Faircloth meant additional Eagle points, followed by another 2-point conversion, this time successful, by Booth and Braddock, brought the score to 38-12.

Going for another touchdown pass, Arrington passed the ball 22 yards to Rowland, and Booths and Smith assisted in adding another 2 points for a score of 46-12.

Ace Ely then completed a 2-yard run, followed by an additional run by Arrington, making the final score 54-12.

The Eagles traveled to Cordele to compete in the third game of the season against Crisp Academy on Friday, September 11.

Following the 7:30 p.m. kick-off, the varsity Eagles gained points with a 8-yard run completed by Racyn Faircloth and a 2-point conversion by Banks Booth and Rylie Rowland. The score was 8-0.

Crisp Academy completed a touchdown in hopes of staying close to David Emanuel. Their efforts fell short after a completed 1-yard run by Brayden Smith. The 2-point conversion was unsuccessful, but the Eagles kept lead 14-6.

A 25-yard touchdown pass from Booth to Jesse Moore increased the Stillmore team’s score to 20-16, and a 2-point conversion from Booth to Rowland increased the score again, this time 22-16.

Moore scored an additional touchdown for the Eagles by completing a 6-yard run. Booth ran the 2-point conversion, tallying the score to 30-22.

A 4-yard run completed by Moore and a 2-point conversion ran by Faircloth sealed the deal for the varsity Eagles. With notable mention to Random Williams for intercepting on a Crisp Academy play, the Eagles claimed another football victory with a final score of 38-22.
