As life changes faster than we can change, it becomes more complex. Learning new ways of managing can be our focus or get our attention. So, before we get too carried away with the complexity of everyday life issues, let us not forget to love God.
Before you realize it, life can become all about you and your circle, so be careful that you don't get in the vicious cycle of chasing everything that comes along. Focus on chasing God. He is the first and the last. He is the beginning and the end.
I recently listened to, "The last words of Steve Jobs" (Google and listen to it). Steve Jobs was a genius. He became a billionaire. He invented Apple computers and iPads. He died of pancreatic cancer at the age of fifty-six. He gave great advice on wealth and health, but his last words were, " Love God".
The first commandment given was "Thou shalt have no other God's before me". Let's not put anything ahead of God. You don't have to worry about what will happen in the future if you keep God first. Sometimes life can throw you out of focus but this is just a reminder. God will take care of you. He promised in Philippians 4:19, "And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory." Also remember Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths."
So, don't forget to love God. He promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Keep trusting him as things get more difficult. Pray, and fast. Read his word and be obedient to it. Stay focused. Remember St. John chapter fourteen. Don't let your heart be troubled. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. So, don't forget God.
