Mr. Donald Duane Davis, 73, of Swainsboro, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness. Graveside services were held Friday, March 19, at 4 p.m. at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Don Wilkes officiating. In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6-feet rule was enforced during service.
Mr. Davis was born August 17, 1947, in Macon, to the late Jack Davis and Elizabeth Roberts Davis. He was owner of Donald Davis Logging Company, and logged his entire life until retirement; his work was also his hobby. Mr. Davis’s favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends at the lake, and passed down his love of lake life to his grandkids. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife and grandkids. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents. 
Survivors include his wife, Joan Davis of Swainsboro; son, Dr. Anthony (Brandi) Davis of Swainsboro; daughter, Andrea Roberts of Swainsboro; brothers, Danny (Linda) Davis of Statesboro and Dennis (Theresa) Davis of Stillmore; grandchildren, Davis Lamb, Jack Davis, Andrew Lamb, and Anna Claire Davis; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
