Mr. Don H. Powell, 67, of Midville passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Select Medical following an extended illness. A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, November 22 at 3 p.m. at Bishop Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mr. Don H. Powell was born August 14, 1953 in Millen to the late M. L. Powell, Jr. and Louise Jenkins Powell. He was a retired "do it all" steelworker. Powell did welding, fabricating, and steel erecting for various companies. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. Powell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and having a good ole time. Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his sons, Ashley (Stephanie) Lanier Powell of Metter and John Wesley Powell of Dearborn, MI; daughter, Jessica (Michael) Purvis of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Gavin Powell, Ashton Powell, Logan Creamer, and Nicholas Purvis; adopted grandchildren, Mason Tanner and Maddie Horn; sisters, Sharon (Steve) Peebles of Adrian, Janet Powell, and Angie Coleman, both of Summertown; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
