Dollie Mae Gardner Madison, age 60, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at St. Joseph’s/Candler after an extended illness. A Celebration of Life was held Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Elder Delmus Mosley officiating and Pastor James Middleton presiding.
Dollie Mae was born July 8, 1962, in Johnson County, to the late Willie Lee Thomas and Lanie Mae Gardner Archie. She went to Emanuel County Schools and continued her education at Swainsboro Technical College. Dollie married Bruce Madison on February 8, 2020. She was employed as a CNA at Swainsboro Nursing Home, Twin City Nursing Home, Emanuel Medical Center, and Pleasant View Nursing Home. Mrs. Madison is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Clarence Gardner and Robert Joseph Gardner; and brother, Hezzie Lee Gardner.
Mrs. Madison leaves to cherish her memories with her husband; sons, Brandon (Anndra) Gardner of Murfreesboro, TN and David (Tahara) Johnson of Swainsboro; five grandchildren, Javie’ Makhel Jackson, Danielle Shaniya Johnson, Ny’Keria Laniya Johnson, McKenzie Taniya Johnson and Courtney Franklin; sisters, Pastor Lessie (Henry) Williams, Shirley (Charles) Williams and Ann (Grant) Young; a host of nieces and nephews; cousins; and good friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
